Jean Cazals is a London-based food photographer with a studio in Notting Hill. He gained his BA Honours in Visual Communication at the London College of Printing and began his career shooting portraiture for editorial, advertising & design assignments but after a few years decided to concentrate on food and lifestyle photography. His photographic approach is clean, graphic and moody, based on natural light with elegant styling and food presentation. Jean’s time is divided between shooting for editorial, advertising and book projects in both London and Dubai. He has published over 60 cookery books and has worked with numerous international chefs including Michel Roux, Peter Gordon, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey. His clients include: SAS Hotels, Asda, Mark & Spencers, Waitrose, Conran, Fauchon, Baxters, Unigate, Kraft, Haagen Dazs, Havana Club, House & Garden, Delicious, Food & Travel, Elle, Marie Claire, Conde Nast Traveller, Vogue Entertaining & Travel, Marthas Stewart Living, La Cuisine des Brasseries ('Gourmand Award' 2004), Quick Bread ('Gourmand Award' nominee 2006), Dough ('Glenfiddich' 2006 Best Photo. nominee & 'Julia Child' Best Cookbook 2006), 'Crust' (James Beard' Awards nominee 2008).
